Dae Seon rallied his troops, sword in hand, his crimson armor gleaming in the firelight. They fought fiercely—shields breaking, blades clashing. Silla archers loosed volleys from the hills, and the fortress gate shattered beneath the Tang battering ram. Haeron fought at Dae Seon’s side, his spear dancing through smoke. But one by one, their comrades fell, swallowed by flame and chaos. When dawn came, the fortress lay in ruin. Dae Seon, bloodied but unbroken, climbed to the highest tower.
