Anansi and the Pot of Wisdom (West Africa – Ashanti) Anansi the Spider gathered all the wisdom in the world and put it into a pot. Wanting it only for himself, he tried to hide it at the top of a tree. Each time he climbed, the pot got in the way. His young son told him to tie it behind his back instead. Realizing even a child had wisdom he didn’t, Anansi smashed the pot in anger. Wisdom scattered across the world, so everyone received a share. Moral: Wisdom is meant to be shared.
