Late at night, a girl heard a knock on her bedroom door. “Who is it?” she asked. Her mother’s voice replied, “It’s me, your mom open the door.” She walked closer — then her phone lit up with a message from her mom: “I’m outside. I’ll be home in 10 minutes.” Her heart pounded. She slowly stepped back from the door. The knocking stopped. In the morning, the door was still closed… but muddy footprints were on the ceiling above her bed.
