SCENE 1 EXT. LONG-DISTANCE BUS - DAY. The sun beats down on dusty roads. Inside a well-worn bus, SIPHO, a young man with a backpack, stares out the window, a small notebook clutched in his hand. The landscape is changing, becoming less rural. NARRATOR For eighteen years, Sipho had only known the quiet rhythm of his village. Now, the rumble of the bus carried him towards a city he'd only seen in faded photographs: Johannesburg. SIPHO (Anticipatory) Almost there. NARRATOR He said, his voice a whisper against the engine's drone, a tremor of both excitement and apprehension in his tone.
