Prompt
William Tyndale was born in England around 1494 and believed that everyone should be able to read the Bible in their own language. At a time when the church forbade English translations, he secretly translated the New Testament and smuggled copies into England. Betrayed by a friend, he was arrested and executed in 1536. His final prayer was, “Lord, open the King of England’s eyes.”
