Every night the voice returns. Different villagers hear their names. People stop sleeping. Children cry. Doors are locked tightly. Then something worse happens. A young girl named Amara hears her mother’s voice outside the house calling her. But her mother is sleeping beside her. Confused, Amara almost answers. Her father quickly covers her mouth and whispers: “That is not your mother.” The village elder finally calls a meeting. He says the forest spirit known as “The Caller” has returned.
