Prompt
Saragosa worked because water surfaced here naturally. Springs supported farming in an otherwise dry stretch of West Texas. A small town formed. Church, school, families stayed. Then in 1987, a flash flood came out of nowhere. A water-filled ditch collapsed. The town had no warning. Twelve people died. Most of the town never returned. Saragosa wasn’t abandoned slowly. It was erased in minutes. What’s left now is quiet ground and memory. Locals still argue whether the town was ever rebuilt at all.
