Long ago, all the stories in the world belonged to the Sky God. Anansi the Spider wanted them, but the Sky God said he would only give them away if Anansi captured three powerful creatures: Onini the python, Osebo the leopard, and the swarm of hornets. With clever tricks, Anansi caught them all — convincing the python to prove its length, tricking the leopard into a trap, and pretending it was raining to capture the hornets. When he brought them to the Sky God, the god laughed in surprise at Anansi’s cunning and gave him all the world’s stories. From
