Elephant said they should carry water from distant lands. Ants offered to build channels. But Owl laughed loudly. “You fools!” he cried. “Why struggle? I alone know the answer. Tonight, I will fly to the clouds and command rain to fall.” The animals clapped and cheered. They trusted Owl’s confidence. That night, Owl flew high into the sky. Higher and higher he soared until he reached the dark clouds.
