MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect securely to outside tools. Once you connect Hypernatural, you can describe a video to your assistant the same way you'd describe it in the in-app chat, and it builds and edits the video for you.
What you can do with it
-
Create a video from a prompt or a shot-by-shot outline
-
Edit it with chat — change a shot, adjust the voiceover, ask for a different look, keep iterating.
-
Build a library of ingredients — upload images, and create reusable characters, products, and logos so the same face or product looks identical across every shot.
-
Reference ingredients by name — once something's in your library, mention it with @Name and your assistant uses the right one.
-
Check on progress — video and asset generation happens in the background, and your assistant can tell you when something's ready.
This is the same generation engine behind the Hypernatural app, so most things you could ask the in-app chat to do, you can ask your assistant to do too.
Where it hands off to the app
-
Rendering and export happen in Hypernatural, not in your assistant. Once your video is ready, your assistant gives you a link to open it — finishing touches happen there.
-
Some requests need a decision only you can make — picking between reference images, confirming an action, or topping up credits. Your assistant will ask, or point you to the app if the choice needs a visual.
Where to use it
Hypernatural MCP works with:
-
Claude (web and desktop)
-
ChatGPT
-
Cursor
-
Claude Code
-
Codex
Connect once with your Hypernatural login — no API key needed. See Connect your assistant for setup steps for each client.
Does it cost extra?
No. Generating through MCP draws from your team's existing credit balance, same as the app. Browsing your library and checking on a video's progress is always free. See How can I optimize my credit usage? — the same rules apply here.
